Eligius Award 2019
The award, named for the patron saint of goldsmiths, was initiated in 2005 and is being offered this year for the sixth time.
The Eligius Award, which has been running since 2005 focuses on the jewellery art in Austria, and will for the sixth time this year show 13 positions including unusual experiments with materials, modified ready-mades discovered in nature or in private collections, and works inspired by personal experiences or past epochs. The exhibition invites visitors to view the candidates for the 2019 prize in Vienna, and to get an insight into the contemporary Austrian jewellery art scene. The objects on display will also be shown in the form of photographs projected onto large screens. The award ceremony will take place on the 16 May in Salzburg, where the exhibition may be seen until 6 July, before in the fall it moves to the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum.
