handWERK

Craft and modernity meet at MAK's new exhibition handWERK.

The very informative and relevant exhibition handWERK at the MAK, with the undertitle Traditional Skills in the Digital Age is a great way of reflecting on the significance and status of handicraft as an integral component of material culture and cultural identity. Encompassing handicraft from historical times to current European perspectives, the exhibit examines how handicraft can help preserve natural resources, it explores new developments on the interface to digital technologies, and presents masterpieces from a range of craft disciplines. Definitely make time for a visit before the exhibit closes!
